The Full Moon Series is an educational and reflective presentation experience that shares Indigenous teachings through art, storytelling, and dialogue.
I am Abenaki from Odanak, and this series is rooted in Indigenous perspectives on natural cycles, balance, and reflection. The Full Moon Series invites audiences to slow down, listen, and reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world through visual art and story. Presentations are supported by guidance from Elders and Indigenous Knowledge Keepers to ensure cultural context, respect, and integrity.

Introduction

Jessica introduces herself, the Full Moon Series, and the cultural context of the work.

Art Talk

A guided walk-through of the paintings, sharing stories, symbolism, and teachings connected to the Full Moon and natural cycles.

Indigenous Teachings

Teachings and reflections are woven throughout the presentation, informed by Elder guidance and Indigenous knowledge systems.

Format Options

The Full Moon Series can be offered in two formats:

Art Talk Only

Length: 2.5 hours

Half Day $1000  
Full day  Art based activity $2000 plus $20 per person for  materials

Art Talk Plus Art Activity

Length: 4.5 hours

This format includes the full Art Talk plus a hands-on creative experience.

Participants create a Full Moon painting on live edge wood using acrylic paints. The process includes:
• Light sketching of the moon and surrounding symbols
• Individual or collaborative painting
• Reflection on cycles, balance, and connection to nature

The art-making process reinforces teachings about natural rhythms, mindfulness, and Indigenous knowledge.

Materials cost: $20 per participant
